You have 14 days to claim from the start of your isolation period, if it began on or before this date.

Overview

Pandemic Leave Disaster Payment is a lump sum payment to help you during the time you can’t work and earn income because you have to:

  • self-isolate or quarantine due to COVID-19, as required by your state or territory government
  • you’re caring for someone who has to self-isolate or quarantine due to COVID-19, as required by their state or territory government.

How to claim

Applications for the Pandemic Leave Disaster Payment are made through the Services Australia website.

If you’re eligible for the payment there are 2 ways to claim:

  • if you’re claiming for a period starting from 18 January 2022 onwards you must claim this payment online
  • If you’re claiming for a period starting 17 January 2022 or earlier you must call the Emergency information line.
