As a small business, one of the ways you can reduce your running costs and greenhouse gas emissions is by upgrading to more energy-efficient equipment. By upgrading to more energy efficient equipment, more than 5,000 businesses who participated in the Small Business Energy Saver program since March 2021 have reduced their annual energy bills by more than $2.9 million. The program has also saved 10,520t CO2e annually or 169,000t CO2e over the lifetime of the products. This is equivalent to more than 39,000 cars off the road.

Other energy saving opportunities

Although this program has ended, small businesses can still upgrade to more energy efficient equipment through the Victorian Energy Upgrades (VEU) program. There are also opportunities for small businesses to reduce their energy costs and emissions by transitioning to solar through the Solar for Business program or using the Victorian Energy Compare tool to assist in sourcing a better energy deal.
