What is the Impacted Public Events Support Program?

The Impacted Public Events Support Program provides grants of $25,000 to organisers of  Tier 1 and Tier 2 public events under the Public Events Framework that are approved or registered to take place between 11.59pm on 27 May 2021 and 11.59pm on 24 June 2021 and meet the eligibility criteria.

Suppliers to Tier 1 and Tier 2 events may also be eligible for a $10,000 grant under this program.

Event organisers, hosts and suppliers also may be eligible for up to $250,000 under the Sustainable Event Business Program.

How much is the grant available under the Impacted Public Events Support Program?

Event organisers of Tier 1 and Tier 2 public events registered under the Public Events Framework may be eligible for a $25,000 grant. Suppliers to Tier 1 and Tier 2 events may be eligible for a $10,000 grant.

This is an invitation only program. Tier 1 and Tier 2 event organisers and suppliers will be invited to apply by the Victorian Government.

How long will applications be open for the Impacted Public Events Support Program?

The deadline for applications has been extended until 11:59pm Friday 23 July 2021.

What is a Tier 1 or Tier 2 event?

A Tier 1 event under the Public Events Framework is an event with more than 7500 attendees.

A Tier 2 event is an event with between 1001 and 7500 attendees.

What is the Public Events Framework?

The COVID-19 Public Events Framework guides event organisers and venues that wish to operate beyond what is allowed under the Victorian Chief Health Officer’s Restricted Activity Directions (Victoria) and/or do not have a COVIDSafe Plan.

I am the organiser or host of Tier 1 or Tier 2 public event registered under the Public Events Framework, but have not been invited to apply. What should I do?

If you believe you are eligible for a grant under the Impacted Public Events Support Program and have not been contacted directly, please call the Business Victoria hotline on 13 22 15.

Only organisers and hosts of Tier 1 and Tier 2 public events registered or approved under the Public Events Framework will be invited to apply.

I am a supplier to an eligible Tier 1 or Tier 2 public event. Can I apply for this program?

Yes. As part of the application process, event organisers are requested to nominate their key suppliers for the registered event. These suppliers will be contacted directly by the Victorian Government.

I am the organiser or host of a business event. Am I eligible for this program?

Yes. If your business event is registered as a Tier 1 or Tier 2 public event under the Public Events Framework, you will be invited to apply.

I am the organiser or host of a Tier 1 or Tier 2 registered event that runs over multiple sessions. Can I apply for multiple grants?

No. Events held over multiple sessions or days will be considered as a single event. Event organisers and hosts can receive one grant per Public Events Framework registration. 

I am the venue operator of a Tier 1 or Tier 2 registered event. Can I apply for a grant?

Venues that are hosting an event, but are not the event organiser, will be required to nominate the event organiser that registered the event with the Victorian Government. Venues may be eligible as a supplier and invited it to apply.

My event has received funding under another Victorian Government business support program. Can I still apply for the Impacted Public Events Support Program?

Yes. Businesses who have applied successfully for funding from the Business Costs Assistance Program Round Two, the Licensed Hospitality Venue Fund 2021, the Live Performance Support Fund, or the Sustainable Event Business Program can apply for this grant if they meet the eligibility criteria.

Event organisers and suppliers that receive funding through one of these programs will have that amount discounted from the total grant received under this program.
