Cheers to Aussie craftsmanship: Australian Made Week is back

As Australians, we have a knack for rallying around icons. It’s part of our national spirit to support and celebrate what's homegrown and special.

So, it’s no surprise that 99% of Australians recognise the iconic green and gold logo, with 77% willing to pay more for homegrown products. Additionally, 4 out of 5 Aussies say they feel positive when buying Australian-made products and have a sense of pride knowing they are being socially responsible and are contributing to Australia’s economy.

Australian Made Week, which runs from Monday 19 May to Sunday 25 May, is a great opportunity to shine a spotlight on our local creators and growers and the benefits of using the Australian Made logo. This special week celebrates all products that carry the iconic green and gold kangaroo and the many great qualities of Australian-made goods.

This year’s Australian Made Week ambassador is three-time Olympic Gold medallist and freestyle world record holder Ariarne Titmus. She’s encouraging everyone to go ‘Go for Gold’.

I’ve been incredibly fortunate to have the backing of Australians throughout my swimming career, and it’s made all the difference. Now, I’m encouraging everyone to rally behind Team Aussie by choosing Australian Made. Because when we back each other, we all win.

Buying Australian-made supports local jobs, helps our economy and is better for our carbon footprint. Now is a great time to hop on board the campaign by buying local products that display the logo this week and beyond. You can also by harness the power of the green and gold kangaroo for your business as well.

Victorians are embracing Australian Made

Here in Victoria, we have a proud history of embracing the Australian Made spirit, delivering products and services that speak to who we are and what we value.

Bendigo Pottery

For over 160 years, Bendigo Pottery has been producing iconic, high-quality ceramics using traditional techniques, blending history with modern design. Each piece reflects a commitment to Australian-made artistry, with skilled potters shaping, glazing, and firing in kilns that have stood the test of time.

As Australia's oldest and largest working pottery, all their products are 100% Aussie made, and with renewed interest in sustainable, locally made products, Bendigo Pottery’s story is more relevant than ever.

At Bendigo Pottery, we’re proud to be part of Australia’s manufacturing story. Every piece we make is a celebration of local craftsmanship, sustainability, and the enduring value of Australian-made. It’s not just pottery – it’s heritage in your hands,’ - Raymond Laurens, owner at Bendigo Pottery.

We have always embraced the Australian Made logo in our business. It is more than just a symbol – it's a way to tap into that national pride and elevate your brand.  Our customers are attracted to the green and gold kangaroo - it instantly communicates quality and trust, so it is a powerful asset for an Australian manufacturer like us - Scott Pendlebury, managing director at DrainTEK.

You can find other great Australian Made products (including our own Victorian ones) in the Australian Made directory. It lists tens of thousands of products registered to carry the Australian Made logo. Search using the Australian Made directory.

The Australian Made advantage

The Australian Made Campaign is an independent, not-for-profit organisation responsible for licensing the use of the Australian Made logo, providing a third-party accreditation system that certifies products that carry the logo as 'genuinely Australian'.

As a registered certification trademark, the logo can only be used on products that are registered with the Australian Made Campaign Ltd and meet the criteria set out in the Australian Consumer Law and the Australian Made Australian Grown Logo Code of Practice.

Whether internationally or down at the local supermarket, the logo is more than just a symbol – it's a way to elevate your brand. It communicates quality and trust to purchasers, making the green and gold kangaroo a powerful asset for any business.

Applying for the logo

Australian Made Week is a great time to hop on board the campaign and have your products certified. The application process is straightforward and requires just a few pieces of documentation.

To get started, you will need:

  • business details (ABN, trading names, addresses)
  • contact details for nominated company representative (for invoicing and account management)
  • product information (product/range name, category)
  • combined sales turnover in $ of all products being licensed to carry the logo
  • details of any contract manufacturer used in the production of the products being licensed.

Is there a cost?

The campaign to promote and administer the logo is not for profit and is funded by the licence fees businesses pay to use the logo. The annual licence fee is based on the sales of licensed products for the previous 12 months.

Instead of providing an exact sales figure, licensees are required to select the range their turnover falls into. There is a fixed fee associated with each range. The minimum fee is $300 plus GST for annual sales up to $300,000.
