The Victorian Government is commited to strategies that end the gender pay gap. In Victoria, women earn 9.6% less than men.
Small businesses face their own set of unique issues when trying to address gender pay equity. The Government is interested in speaking to a range of different SMEs across a number of industries.
You do not need to know anything at all about gender pay equity to take part. Regardless of your level of knowledge, your input is valuable.
The views and experiences of a broad range of workers at SMEs is of interest, including:
- owner-managers, senior managers, human resources managers, entry level employees, junior employees and mid-tier employees
- people with disabilities, people from a variety of cultural backgrounds, people on temporary visas, LGBTIQ+ people, people from regional and rural locations, and people who identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander.
The Victorian Equal Opportunity and Human Rights Commission is carrying out this research and will host focus groups in Melbourne and across Victoria.
The focus groups and consultations will occur during March and April 2020. Incentive payments will be provided for participants.
