The Prolonged Power Outage Support Payment has been extended to support businesses affected by extended power outages due to recent storms in Victoria.

Extreme weather events in Victoria on 9 June brought down trees, caused major flooding and damaged vital infrastructure. To help cover the costs of rent, wages and other operating expenses, businesses that were without power for a prolonged period can apply for disaster assistance payments of up to $2,500 per week for up to 3 weeks.

To be eligible, businesses must have an annual payroll of less than $10 million and have been without power as of 12.01am Thursday 17 June 2021.

The payments are administered by AusNet. AusNet has established a dedicated claims process for customers affected by the storm, which can be accessed through the AusNet website or by calling 1300 360 795 and dial 1 for the AusNet Storm Support Line.
