The Pilot is a Victorian Government initiative that will explore how economic security can be improved for Victorians working in casual or insecure jobs by providing access to sick or carer’s pay. It will be fully funded by the Victorian Government and run over two years starting in 2022.

Each year, people going to work when they are sick costs industry billions of dollars. People in casual or insecure work often have no option but to go to work when they are sick, potentially spreading infection within their work environment.

Consultation with employers, workers and industry groups on the Pilot’s design is open now.
