2023 will see the exciting return of a family-friendly street festival to Melbourne's Chapel Street.

The street festival will celebrate the unique character of the Chapel Street precinct, with areas showcasing fashion, art, music and food.

The Chapel Street Precinct Association will receive $450,000 in funding to deliver the festival, planned for late 2023 – over 20 years after the last street festival was held on the iconic strip. Funding will help cover the costs of running the large-scale event, including equipment hire, health and safety officers, traffic management, permits and other fees.

The return of the Chapel Street Festival builds on the recent funding of a similar festival to be held on High Street, Northcote, with planning for that well underway.
