The statewide tour will include 25 free face-to-face events from Tuesday 1 October and a week-long series of webinars.
In line with this year’s theme – ‘connect, learn, share’ – Health and Safety Month will offer expert-led sessions to share information and advice, highlight current trends and encourage conversations about workplace safety.
Regional roadshow coming to a town near you
From Warrnambool to Wodonga, WorkSafe is visiting locations across the state for in-person events covering a diverse range of topics including safer manual handling, supporting workers returning from injury, and managing risks to mental health in the workplace.
Safety in construction will be a focus of a series of tradies’ breakfasts, while farmers will be supported in preparing for a safe harvest and learning more about manual handling, noise and fatigue at sessions targeting cropping and horticulture.
Breakfast or lunch will be provided at each event, as well as a Q&A session where participants can raise their queries or concerns about workplace health and safety.

- Wangaratta – Thursday 17 October
- Shepparton – Friday 18 October
- Shepparton GV Safety Group Breakfast – Friday 18 October

Virtual events put safety in the spotlight
Learn the latest in workplace safety from a location that suits you with 15 online events.
Webinars will be held on a diverse range of topics including:
- addressing and improving health and safety issues in the workplace
- supporting and supervising apprentices
- preventing gendered violence in healthcare
- safe use of elevated work platforms
- preventing exposure to welding fumes
- treatment pathways for mental injury
- high-risk crystalline silica work and the ban on engineered stone
- preventing and managing psychosocial hazards
- the challenges and priorities of workplace safety in Victoria
- manual handling basics
- how the workwell program can support a mentally healthy workplace
- preventing family violence and supporting Victorians in the workplace
- why consultation is so important
- early intervention and occupational rehabilitation of mental injuries
- how changes to the WorkCover scheme will affect injured workers.
A Q&A segment will feature in each session for participants to get advice on any workplace health and safety issues or concerns.
Webinars will run from Mondy 28 October to Friday 1 November 2024.
