Bridging Now to Next calls all Australians to step forward together, to look ahead and continue the push forward as past lessons guide us.

Why does National Reconciliation Week matter to you and how can you be part of something bigger?

Running from Tuesday 27 May to Tuesday 3 June 2025, the week commemorates 2 significant milestones in the journey of reconciliation – the successful 1967 referendum to include Indigenous Australians in the census, and the High Court Mabo decision, recognising native title rights.

It’s more than just history or culture; it’s about real stories, shared achievements, and simple actions that lead to lasting change. This year’s theme, Bridging Now to Next, shines a light on the ongoing connection between past, present, and future — inviting everyone to take the next step together.

Developing a Reconciliation Action Plan

A Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) gives your business the framework to turn good intentions into action, helping you and your staff to meaningfully engage in reconciliation.

RAPs are designed to suit organisations at different stages of their reconciliation journey, from working out where you can have the best impact, to strengthening relationships and embedding reconciliation initiatives into business strategies.

They deliver tangible and substantive benefits for First Nations peoples and will help increase cultural safety in your workplace.

Other ways to get involved

Attend a Reconciliation Week event

Every year workplaces right across the country host a range of activities and events during National Reconciliation Week. Find an event near you with the Reconciliation Australia NRW Events Calendar 2025.

Support local First Nations businesses

Creating a welcoming space starts with respect and a visible Acknowledgement of Country is a powerful way to show it.

Businesses like Kinya Lerrk offer beautifully designed plaques that recognise Traditional Owners and help build a sense of belonging and togetherness, every day of the year.
