About the rent relief letter of request

The Commercial Tenancy Relief Scheme was introduced by the Victorian Government to alleviate financial hardship faced by tenants and landlords as a result of the coronavirus (COVID‑19) pandemic.

Under the Commercial Tenancy Relief Scheme, tenants under eligible leases who are experiencing financial hardship because of the coronavirus (COVID‑19) pandemic can formally request rent relief from their commercial landlord. The request must be in writing and include certain information, outlined in section 10 of the COVID‑19 Omnibus (Emergency Measures) (Commercial Leases and Licences) Regulations 2020.

See Making a temporary rent reduction agreement on the Victorian Government coronavirus website for more information about the process.
