Who is eligible to receive a grant?
Grants of up to $5000 per employee are available to Victorian manufacturers that are on a growth trajectory and are seeking to apply digital technology to their operations through their existing workforce.
How many grants can my business receive?
Businesses can receive funding for up to five employees to undertake training throughout the life of the program.
What courses can I enrol my employee in?
Employees can complete a 12-week online, part-time industry endorsed course in one of the following streams:
- Additive manufacturing
- Artificial Intelligence (AI) / machine learning
- Computer aided design/manufacturing (CAD/CAM)
- Cloud computing
- Customer relationship management (CRM)
- Cybersecurity
- Data analytics
- Digital marketing
- IT operations and support
- Leadership
- Product management
- Programming / software development
- Project management (agile)
- User experience / User interface (UX/UI)
Who is delivering the training?
The following Victorian universities, TAFEs and private training providers will deliver the courses:

- Swinburne University of Technology
- University of Melbourne
- Victoria University Polytechnic
Do I have to help pay for training?
Successful applicants are not required to co-contribute cash towards training but must commit to ensuring their nominated employee is provided an opportunity to earn and learn.
This includes incorporating a digital element into the employee’s position description upon completion of the training, and ensuring the employee of assigned relevant work activities and tasks to apply and embed their learning.
When do applications close?
Applications for the May round close at 11:59pm on 5 May 2024.
If my application is approved, when will training occur?
Training will be delivered across five rounds: January 2023, May 2023, September 2023, January 2024 and May 2024.
