Program overview
Grants from $5,000 to $10,000 (excluding GST) are available to support eligible Aboriginal businesses in Victoria.
The program aims to:
- provide access to capital, information and expertise
- improve the skills of owners and employees
- enable businesses to excel and compete effectively in their market.
Applications for the program are open until 5pm on Friday 6 September 2024.
Eligibility criteria
To be eligible for a grant, the business must meet all the following criteria:
- be an Aboriginal owned and operated business
- operate in Victoria and engage with regional suppliers or have activity servicing regional areas
- hold a current Australian Business Number (ABN)
- be registered for GST
- be registered with the responsible federal or state regulator.
The following applicants are not eligible to apply:
- not-for-profit organisations
- Commonwealth, state or local government agencies or bodies
- unincorporated associations.
Activities and expenses eligible for funding
Grant funds can be used to:
- improve the skills of owners and employees (e.g. mentoring, coaching, training)
- develop products or services (e.g. research, development and testing)
- expand into new markets (e.g. accreditations, marketing and promotion)
- improve operations (e.g. software purchases, acquiring professional advisory services).
Grant amount
Applicants can apply for funding between $5,000 and $10,000 per ABN for eligible program activities.
