Program overview
The mRNA Victoria Pipeline (mVP) grant program is designed to accelerate Victorian mRNA research projects in readiness for clinical trial as part of the BioNTech and mRNA Victoria ecosystem investment project.
The first round of the mVP grant program will provide up to $2 million to support and accelerate the development of mRNA-based vaccines and therapeutics.
mRNA Victoria and the Department of Jobs, Skills, Industry and Regions (DJSIR) will administer this program.

Who can apply?
Applicants must:
- hold an Australian Business Number (ABN)
- be an eligible legal entity type (refer to section 3.2 Program Guidelines)
- operate from a Victorian location, or be headquartered in Victoria, or have a subsidiary based in the State
- hold the Intellectual Property or have the rights to commercialise the technology-innovation in Australia and major international markets.
What you get?
Applicants to the first round of the mVP grant program can apply for up to $1 million (excluding GST) of grant funding for their project.
How to apply?
Applicants will need to complete the application form, including providing a detailed project budget and responses against the assessment criteria, compile all necessary supporting documents and complete all required attestations.

Applications selected for funding will need to enter into a DJSIR Standard Grant Agreement in order to receive the grant payment. A blank copy of the DJSIR Standard Grant Agreement Template is available on request from mrnavictoria@ecodev.vic.gov.au..
Applications must include the mandatory project plan. A template is available here for reference.

A Target Product Profile is a strategic document that defines the desired characteristics of a product under development.
It may include sections such as Product Description, Indication, Key Attributes, Regulatory Pathway, Manufacturing, IP Strategy, Commercialization, Timeline, Resources, Risks, and Budget.
