The Rapid Antigen Test Allocation Pilot – Critical Food Supply Chain has now closed.

Overview

The Victorian Government is running a regional pilot with support from Bunnings so employing businesses in the critical food supply chain can buy supplies of rapid antigen tests and maintain their workforce.

Under the pilot, employing businesses in the critical food supply chain can request to purchase rapid antigen test packs through Business Victoria and pick up their allocation at Bunnings’ Geelong North or Shepparton stores.

They RA tests are available at an affordable price to cover administrative costs, and Bunnings has volunteered to distribute packs with no mark ups or margins.

The packs are not part of Bunnings’ general range and will not be available to purchase by customers outside of this pilot.

Eligibility criteria

To be eligible to purchase RA test packs through this pilot, Victorian businesses must:

  • Be registered with WorkSafe Victoria on and from 10 February 2022 as an employing business
  • Operate in the critical food supply chain (your business is in the critical food supply chain if it operates under one of the eligible Australian and New Zealand Standard Industrial Classification (ANZSIC) codes for this pilot)
  • Hold an active Australian Business Number (ABN) on and from 11 February 2022

Sole traders, individuals in partnerships and individual trustees of trusts must employ people other than themselves to be defined as ‘employing businesses’.

Your industry ABN registration includes your self-nominated ANZSIC industry classification. Please ensure these details are up to date and reflect your current business activity before submitting your purchase request form.

Backdated ABNs will not be accepted.

If you have multiple businesses with different ABNs and all are eligible employing businesses in the critical food supply chain, you can submit one purchase request form for each ABN.

The tests must be used by the business that has applied to purchase them.  They cannot be obtained for personal use or sold.

What you can buy

Employing businesses in the critical food supply chain have the option of requesting to purchase 10, 50 or 100 packs containing five RA tests from the Victorian Government.

The pack of five tests cost $41.25 including GST (which is $8.25 each, including GST).  Businesses will have the option of paying for and collecting their packs from either Bunnings Geelong North or Bunnings Shepparton.

The test packs are not part of Bunnings’ general range and are not available to purchase by customers outside of this pilot.

Information you need for your request

When filling out the purchase request form you will need to supply:

  • Name and contact details for the person who will be collecting the RA test packs from the nominated Bunnings store
  • ABN and Business Name
  • WorkSafe number (WEN or WRN)
  • Number of employees
  • Number of RA test packs you wish to purchase (either 10, 50 or 100 packs, with each pack containing 5 individual RA tests)
  • Preferred collection and payment location, either Bunnings Geelong North or Bunnings Shepparton.

Businesses may be subject to audit at the discretion of the department.

Please make sure all the information you supply in your purchase request form is correct. Incomplete or incorrect information will result in your request being unsuccessful.

Assessing your request

We will endeavour to process your request as quickly as possible. However, please note that in some cases it may take up to 7 business days for your order to be fulfilled.

When your RA test packs are ready for collection, Bunnings will contact you with information on how to collect and pay for them.

Collecting your order

Once your request has been processed and your order is ready for collection, you will be contacted by Bunnings with information on how to collect and pay for your order.

To collect your order, you will need to:

  • travel to your chosen store, either Bunnings Geelong North or Bunnings Shepparton
  • show staff your confirmation email
  • pay for your order.

To be eligible to purchase RA tests through this pilot, businesses must employ workers in the critical food supply chain in Victoria. They must also hold an active Australian Business Number (ABN) and be registered with WorkSafe Victoria.

Businesses must also operate in the critical food supply chain. Businesses are in the critical food supply chain if they operate under one of the eligible Australian and New Zealand Standard Industrial Classification (ANZSIC) codes.

Sole traders, individuals in partnerships and individual trustees of trusts must employ people other than themselves to be defined as ‘employing businesses’ under this pilot.

The pilot is intended to help keep supermarket shelves stocked, and ensure Victorians continue to have access to the food they need.

It will give employing businesses in the critical food supply chain access to tests to maintain their workforce.

Once the pilot is complete, it will be reviewed.

No. Any employing business in the critical food supply chain can lodge a purchase request under this pilot if they meet the eligibility criteria.

However, you must be willing to travel to either Bunnings Shepparton or Bunnings Geelong North to collect and pay for your RA test packs.

Employing businesses in the critical food supply chain sector will have the option of requesting 10, 50 or 100 packs of 5 RA tests.

Each eligible business can submit one purchase request form to a maximum purchase of 100 packs of 5 RA tests.

If you have multiple businesses with different ABNs and all are eligible employing businesses in the critical food supply chain, you can submit a purchase request form for each ABN.

The RA tests must be used by the business that has applied to purchase them. They cannot be obtained for personal use or sold.

No. There are 100,000 rapid antigen tests available through this pilot program. Eligible employing businesses can request to purchase 10, 50 or 100 packs of 5 rapid antigen tests.

Under the pilot, each test costs $8.25 including GST.

Eligible businesses can request to purchase 10 ($412.50), 50 ($2062.50) or 100 ($4125) packs, all inclusive of GST. Each pack contains 5 tests.

No. There is no option to choose which type or brand of RA tests you will be allocated.

All RA tests allocated as part of this pilot are nasal swab tests. You may be allocated different brands of tests as part of your order and all are approved by the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA).

The RA test packs should be stored in a cool, dry place (at 2-30°C).

The tests should not be frozen and they should not be stored in direct sunlight.

No. There is no option to choose which RA tests you will be allocated.

All RA tests allocated as part of this pilot are nasal swab tests. In some cases, you may be allocated different brands of tests as part of your order and all are approved by the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA).

If your test is faulty then yes you can return the test to the Bunnings store it was collected from for a refund. Please note that you cannot return tests for any other reason. For example, if you have changed your mind about the purchase.

RA tests are available to be purchased from supermarkets, pharmacies or online from selected suppliers although availability at these places may be limited. The Victorian Government is also investing in long-term solutions, including manufacturing testing kits in Victoria.

No. Eligible businesses can only submit one purchase request form.

If you have multiple businesses with different ABNs and all are eligible employing businesses in the critical food supply chain, you can submit one purchase request form for each ABN.

The tests must be used by the business that has applied to purchase them.  They cannot be purchased for personal use or on-sold.

If you were unsuccessful, this means that the information supplied on your purchase request form did not meet the pilot’s eligibility criteria.

If you completed the form incorrectly and you are eligible for the pilot, you can lodge another purchase request while the pilot remains open.

You will immediately receive an email confirming that your request has been received. We will endeavour to process your request as quickly as possible. Once this has happened, you will be contacted by Bunnings with details of how to collect and pay. However, please note that in some cases it may take up to 7 business days for you to be contacted by Bunnings.

If more than 7 business days have passed and you have not heard from Bunnings, please call the Rapid Antigen Test Hotline on 1300 502 647.

If you have supplied incorrect information, please contact the Rapid Antigen Test Hotline on 1300 502 647 within 24 hours of submitting your request.

Bunnings will receive your nominated contact person’s name and contact details so they can tell you when your RA test packs are ready for payment and collection. No additional information will be shared, and your details can only be used by Bunnings for the purpose of this pilot.

This pilot is designed to support as many businesses in the critical food supply chain as possible. By limiting purchase requests to one per ABN we are ensuring as many businesses as possible can access RA tests through this pilot.

If you wish to cancel or change your order, please contact the Rapid Antigen Test Hotline within 24 hours on 1300 502 647. After this time, your order cannot be changed.

You should put the name of your business contact who will be collecting your order from Bunnings Shepparton or Bunnings Geelong North on your purchase request form.

The RA test packs must be paid for when you collect them.

Once your request has been processed and your order is ready to collect, Bunnings will contact you with instructions on how to pay for and collect your allocation of RA test packs.

No you will not be able to use or collect Flybuys points when purchasing RA tests through this pilot. This is because Bunnings does not sell RA tests as part of its general range.

No, you will not be able to use your PowerPass to get a discount on your allocation, as the RA tests are not a product sold by Bunnings.

If eligible businesses are also Bunnings PowerPass account holders, they cannot purchase RA tests through their account or an invoice payment.

Bunnings Shepparton and Bunnings Geelong North have been chosen for the pilot as key locations for many critical food supply chain businesses.

No. The RA test packs are not part of Bunnings’ general range and will not be available to purchase outside of this pilot.

We will endeavour to process your request as quickly as possible. However, please note that in some cases it may take up to 7 business days for your request to be processed.

No. Once you have chosen your collection site it cannot be changed. Please make this selection carefully.

If you are not able to collect the RA test packs by the required date, please contact the Rapid Antigen Test Hotline on 1300 502 647 as soon as possible.

Yes. They will need to provide a copy of the email confirmation from Bunnings (which includes a Bunnings order code) when collecting the order.

No. RA tests purchased as part of the pilot can only be collected from either Bunnings Shepparton or Bunnings Geelong North stores.

Once your allocation is ready for collection, you will be contacted by Bunnings with more information on how to collect and pay for your order. Collections will be available from Monday to Friday only.
